 My name is Augustus but 'Gus' is preferred. I'm a product of an early childhood in California and teens to adulthood in Louisiana. I played saxophone and bassoon in high school and my one semester of college before 9 years in the Air Force. Some 40 years later that inner desire to create music had me enroll in Full Sail University and I now have an Associate's Degree in Music Production at age 72!

It's quite a change in looking at musical notes on a music sheet and waveforms on a computer screen!  It's virtually impossible to bypass the need to develop some technical skills and knowledge of electronics and computer audio (DAWs etc)  if you want to create music today. My playing skills are nowhere near what they were years ago so most of my creations are from loops.  I try one or a few and build on what I feel from that. It's like a game with me in that each time it's a new challenge to see what I can do with it. I discovered that I have a talent for creating very good, often unusual, sound effects during my college classes.
